Telephone Threats at Pre-Schools

Over the past several days, several pre-schools and other businesses in El Dorado County have received telephone messages from a male caller.  In the messages, the caller threatened staff and children.  This included a business that does have children on the premises.  Several pre-schools have temporarily closed as a result of the threats.  However, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office has not instructed any schools to lockdown.

The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office is not aware of a credible threat at this time.  Nevertheless, we are working diligently to identify the person or persons responsible for the messages.  Extra patrols are being conducted in the areas of the threats.  If anyone has any information related to the specific threats, please contact Detective Densmore at 642-4718Any new information will be announced when it becomes available.

Garden Valley Fire Update

On September 13, 2015, at approximately 1100 hours, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to assist Garden Valley Fire on a wildland fire in the 4600 block of Highway 193 in Garden Valley.  While searching the area, it was determined that a residence had burned.  El Dorado County Coroner’s confirmed two person’s remains were located inside the burned residence.

The Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office has been working diligently on behalf of the victims located within the burnt structure. The Coroner’s Office has sent samples of the located remains to the California Department of Justice for DNA processing in an attempt to identify the remains. A possible third set of remains were located within the burnt residence, however, are still in the early stage of being examined.

The incident is being treated as a homicide and arson investigation at this time. The investigation is ongoing and more information will be announced once it becomes available.

Detectives Seeking Assistance

On September 20, 2015, the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 6000 block of Chablis Drive for a home invasion robbery.  The homeowners reported three armed subjects entered their residence with firearms at approximately 6:00 am that morning.  The armed subjects stole marijuana and firearms from the residence.  The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Densmore at 642-4718.
