KING FIRE Update – 9/28/2014 07:40 am
With continued favorable weather conditions firefighting efforts are progressing well and the Incident Commander reports 84% containment of the King Fire.
Current road closures exist to support fire operations as follows:
Mosquito Road is closed from Wentworth Springs Road to Stope Drive.
Ice House Road is closed from US Highway 50.
Please use caution when traveling in the areas affected by this fire as five thousand Firefighters are still actively working this event and fire apparatus including big rigs and bulldozers are utilizing the roads as well.
All areas of El Dorado County affected by the King Fire have been repopulated. No areas remain under evacuation orders.

Camino – The King Incident and cooperating agencies announce today, Saturday September 27, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. that the Evacuation Advisory for the areas of Quintette and Volcanoville has been lifted.
Road closures of Mosquito Road at Wentworth Road, Mosquito Road at Stope Drive, and Icehouse Road at Highway 50 will still remain in place due to fire equipment and activity in the area. Use caution as emergency vehicles continue to work and travel through the area.
Cooperating Agencies: California Highway Patrol, Red Cross, Caltrans, Cal Office of Emergency Services, El Dorado Irrigation District, Sacramento Municipal Utility District, Sierra Pacific Industries, Pacific Gas & Electric, Placer County Water Agency, Placer County Sheriffs, California Conservation Corps and El Dorado County Animal Services.
