El Dorado County Sheriff John D’Agostini was recently contacted by concerned residents and business owners about transients and homeless in and around the Pollock Pines area. Sheriff D’Agostini and members of his staff have met with residents to address their concerns. The Sheriff”s Office has since deployed additional resources in the area. These resources include increased saturated patrol, business and building checks and foot patrol. The Sheriff also deployed the Special Enforcement Detail (SED) to develop additional resources and work with business owners within the community.

A husband and wife couple were killed in a boating accident on Lake Tahoe near Meeks Bay in the early morning hours on Sunday 8/3/14. The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 0140 hrs of a boat colliding with a dock pier piling at 7000 block of Emerald Bay Road in the area of Meeks Bay. A group of people had been sleeping on the dock at the time of the collision, and were awakened by the impact of the collision.

Responding units from North Tahoe Fire and the El Dorado County Sheriff Office boat deputies found both victims dead at the scene. Initial investigation indicates that the boat, a 19′ 1997 Glastron was traveling at a high rate of speed when the collision occurred. The hull of the boat was split in half from the force of the impact. The possibility that alcohol may have been a factor is being investigated and autopsies are scheduled for early this week. The decedent’s are identified as Tatiana Nikolskaya 44 years of age, and her husband Vadim Raizanov 45 years of age. The couple resided in San Ramon, CA.

El Dorado County Sheriff’s Deputies on scene verified four people on board the downed helicopter. A male with head injuries and a male with leg injuries were flown to a Reno Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. The other two occupants walked away from the accident. The helicopter was assisting the annual Jeepers Jamboree event this weekend.

At this time, the trail is closed and officers are standing by the wreckage. The NTSB and FAA are investigating the incident. Any questions related to the investigation should be directed to the NTSB and FAA.
