The couple found deceased in the residence on the 3300 block of Gold Nugget Ct in Placervillle have been identified as Gene Bunch, an 83 year old man and Barbara Dozier an 85 year old woman. Gene and Barbara were not married but had lived together for many years. The circumstances around their deaths are still being investigated. All possiblities including murder suicide are being considered.

At this time there are no known facts regarding this incident to indicate that there is any imediate danger to the public safety.

Deputies responded to a residence on the 3300 block of Gold Nugget Court in Placerville on 8/19/14 regarding a reported assault with a deadly weapon and possible suicide.

Deputies arrived to discover an elderly man and an elderly woman deceased in the residence. Both appeared to have been shot. Crime Scene Investigators and Detectives responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. Coroner investigators also responded to the scene and initiated an investigation to determine the identity of the victims and the cause of their deaths, Both investigations are continuing. Further information will be released as it is received.

Monday, August 18, 2014: ​The body of Raymond Nocon was discovered in the waters of the South Fork American River this afternoon. El Dorado County Sheriff/Coroner personnel have recovered the deceadent and are initiating a coroner’s investigation to determine the cause of his death.
